The staff and place is friendly and clean. It's easy to navigate the menu. The hardest part is deciding what you want! I was hungry so I got the 2 meat combo with a side and Mac and Cheese and beans. Both excellent. The meat choices were Brisket and ribs. Both flavorful and tender.

We thought the jalapeño sausage was the best thing here! This was a different kind of bbq that was more vinegar based? Not 100% sure. It was MUCH different than pecan lodge for instance though. You go up to a counter to order and you can see the meat right there. They let us try a small piece of sausage to make sure it wasn't going to be too hot for us.

Terrific ribs, so good they don't need any sauce. The cabbage, collard greens and cornbread were remarkable as was the staff. Many thanks to all, Jim Gambulos Dallas, Texas

Excellent barbecue, of course. Among the very best I've had. We tried the brisket, ribs and hot links. Sides included coleslaw, mashed taters and coleslaw. All were spot-on tasty and fresh. The friendliest staff treats you like nothing is more important than making you happy! We would eat here at least weekly if we lived locally!

I placed a take out order here on November 4, 2024 after competing in a Jiu Jitsu Tournament in Dallas. I was craving BBQ -- thanks to Yelp, I stumbled upon Smokey John's. It was about an hour to closing so the place was almost empty. But the staff here were still very attentive, professional and friendly. Popular menu items include: slow-cooked brisket, juicy ribs, house-made sausages, fried catfish, blackened tilapia, collard greens, candied sweet potatoes, and mac and cheese. I ordered " The Smoke Plate" brisket with collard greens and Mac n cheese. And they did NOT disappoint! When in Dallas, you have to stop by Smokey John's for some BBQ, you won't regret it!!

My wife loves the new state fair foods. She saw the local fox channel featuring Smokey John's smoked pastrami. Since pastrami is made from brisket I was intrigued. We live about 90 minutes north of John's but a trip to love field seemed like the perfect opportunity to try them. I will say this sandwich is only available Friday and Saturdays for a limited time. This was an amazing sandwich I mean the most delicious moist meat I've had. Service on rye bread with a slice of Swiss. I've had the famous Katz deli pastrami I think this is better. Just when I thought it could not be better, I bought their Friday only turkey dinner to go. Holly cow I got home a few our later and had I Fork full of the dressing, maybe the best I have had. And the yams OMG. Brothers Brent and Juan are doing their dad John proud. The brother were working augmenting staff and just interacting with customers. I had a good guess they were the owners by the way the carried themselves. I had to look them up to be sure. I cannot wait to come back next week for some BBQ. If you don't come try this food you are doing yourself a disservice. Five stars are not enough

First time trying Dallas BBQ and I hit the jackpot! Rib meat was fall off the bone with just the right amount of smoke and char. The brisket was juicy and tender without being fatty. And the chicken was perfectly cooked and not dry. The sauce was perfect, as was the cole slaw. Mac & cheese, sweet potatoes and corn bread weren't the best I've had but complimented the meat nicely. The service was friendly. Crystal was like a long lost friend greeting you. It was busy during lunch but the line went quick.
